Invisalign®

Is it finally time that you got that straight or smile that you've always wanted? Many orthodontic patients shy away from the idea of wearing braces that involve wires and brackets that can be both unsightly and, at times, painful. Invisalign® clear aligners are an option that many have considered and loved in order to correct any orthodontic problems that have been bothering them for a long time. These clear aligners have offered patients that are older the option of finally straightening their smile if they passed the age of wearing traditional braces.

What Is Invisalign®?

To be clear, no pun intended, Invisalign® is a transparent set of plastic trays that are changed every two weeks, or more, depending on the instructions given to you by your orthodontist. These aligners work by moving your teeth a little bit at a time and a carefully-planned sequence. The trays work by completely covering each tooth, gradually moving them into new positions that can help mildly crowded teeth or close small spaces.

How Can You Get Your Own Aligner System?

In order to get your own clear alignment system, you have to be the appropriate candidate. If you currently have minimum spacing or crowding in your teeth, but the back of your teeth form a good bite, then Invisalign® is a viable treatment option for you. Unfortunately, however, if your upper and lower jaws are not in proper alignment, then traditional braces would address your particular set of problems in a more efficient manner.

Invisalign® offers a unique set of advantages such as:

  • Your oral hygiene can be much more effective than with traditional braces.
  • You will be able to continue enjoying all of the foods you previously loved as you can take out the aligners while you eat.
  • If you or your child participates in sports, you’re able to replace the aligners with protective mouthpieces for your added safety.
